Calcutta University BA LLB 2016 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must satisfy the below conditions before they apply for the examination:
  • Candidate should not be more than 20 years of age as on 1st June, 2016 and 22 years for SC/ ST students and 25 years in case of PH students.

MUCLET 2016 – Mumbai University Common Law Entrance Test

Mumbai University Common Law Entrance Test commonly known as MUCLET 2016 exam and is a state level exam. This law entrance test is conducted to offer admission to students in 5 year Integrated programme in L.L.B and B.B.A in different colleges. Students who are willing to appear for the examination can download the application form from the official website www.mu.ac.in beginning June, 2016. MUCLET 2016 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants need to satisfy the below conditions to be eligible for MUCLET 2016 Exam:
  • Applicant ought to be passed in Higher Secondary Certificate examination or (10+2) or its equivalent degree from a recognized university to apply for the test.

AP LAWCET 2016 – Andhra Pradesh Law Common Entrance Test

Andhra Pradesh Law Common Entrance Test popularly known as AP LAWCET 2016 is a state level exam. It is an undergraduate exam conducted for the students to take admission in various law colleges in state of Andhra Pradesh. The AP PGLCET is conducted by the Sri Krishnadevaraya University in place of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) the AP PGLCET is conducted by the Sri Krishnadevaraya University. Applicants interested can fill the application form from March, 2016. For L.L.B programmes around 8030 seats are dispersed among 49 different colleges of the state and in around 38 colleges of the state 3800 seats for the five-year integrated law programmes. AP LAWCET 2016 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants who fail to satisfy the below conditions are not eligible for the examination:
For 3 year L.L.B:
  • Applicants should be passed in their Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent degree from a recognized university to apply for the examination.
  • Applicants must score a minimum of 45% of aggregate marks in their Higher Secondary Examination to be eligible for the entrance exam.
  • Applicants those who are appearing for the examination can also apply for the examination.
  • The maximum age limit for a candidate seeking admission into the 3 year LL.B Course shall be Thirty Years (relaxable by five years in case of SCs/STs) as on 31st December of the year of seeking admission.
For 5 year L.L.B:
  • Applicants passed in Higher Secondary or its equivalent exam can only apply if they are passed from a recognized University.
  • Applicants must have scored aggregate of 45% marks in their Higher Secondary Exams to be eligible for the examination (40% in case of SC/ ST applicants)
  • The maximum age limit for a candidate seeking admission into the 5 year LL.B Course shall be twenty years (relaxable by two years in case of SCs/STs) respectively as on 31st December of the year of seeking admission.

CULEE 2016 – Christ University Law Entrance Exam

Christ University Law Entrance Exam commonly known as CULEE 2016 university level exam. Lloyd Entrance Test 2016

Lloyd Entrance Test 2016commonly known as LET is an all India level exam. It is conducted by the Lloyd Law College, Noida for the admission of aspirants in five years integrated course B.A., LLB & 3 years LL.B courses. General Knowledge & Current Affairs: This section will test General knowledge & current affairs
English including Comprehension: The English section will test the candidate’s proficiency in English based on comprehension and grammar; the grammar section will include correction of incorrect grammatical sentences, fill in the blanks with appropriate words, Jumbled words & Sentences, Antonyms, Synonyms, Part of Speech, Idioms & phrases etc
Mathematics: This section will test candidate’s Knowledge of elementary mathematics up to 10th standard
Logical Reasoning: The purpose of the logical reasoning section is to test the student’s ability to identify patterns, logical links and rectify illogical arguments. It will include a wide variety of logical reasoning questions such as syllogisms, logical sequences, analogies, etc.
Legal Aptitude & Legal Awareness: This section will test the legal aptitude of the students. Questions will be framed with the help of legal propositions (described in the paper), and a set of facts to which they said proposition has to be applied. Some propositions may not be true in the real sense (e.g. the legal proposition might be that any person who speaks in a movie hall and disturbs other that are watching the movie will be banned from entering any movie theatre across India for one year)

CLAT 2016 – Common Law Admission Test

Common Law Admission Test popularly known as CLAT 2016 is national level exam on rotation by 16 National Law Universities (NLUs). This exam is conducted to offer admission to candidates in different postgraduate and undergraduate courses such as L.L.B & L.L.M. The all India entrance exam CLAT is conducted by the Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University (RMLNLU) in various law universities of India. Candidates who are interested can fill the application form from January, 2016.  Candidates will get admission on merit cum preference basis and allocation of candidates to various NLU’s will be similar. Candidate should be below 20 years to apply for the examination. CLAT exam shall be held in the second week of May, 2016. CLAT 2016 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates interested to apply for the CLAT 2016 examination must satisfy the below conditions:
For U.G Course:
  • Applicants completed their Higher Secondary Certificate or its equivalent examination from a recognized university or board can apply for the examination.
  • Applicants must not exceed than 20 years of age as on 1st July, 2016 (22 in case of SC/ ST candidate) to apply for the examination.
  • Applicants must score a minimum of 45% of aggregate marks in their HSC/ 12th examination and 40% in case of SC/ ST category applicants to be eligible for the test.
For P.G Course:
  • Applicants must have completed their graduation degree (L.L.B/ B.L) or its equivalent degree from a recognized university to be eligible for the test.
  • Applicants should have scored at least 55% of aggregate marks in graduation to apply for the examination (50% in case of SC/ ST candidates).
Applicants who are appearing their final year can also apply for the examination.

CLAT 2016 Application Process

Applicants need to follow the steps given below to apply for CLAT 2016:
Step 1: Applicants have to visit www.clat.ac.in to apply for the examination.
Step 2: Applicants should enter their personal, qualification and other details as mentioned in the application form.
Step 3: Applicant need to upload their recent passport size photograph and signature in JPG format only as mentioned in the application form.
Step 4: For the completion of the process applicants must pay their application fees online through Credit/ Debit Card/ Net Banking.
CLAT 2016 Application fees
Applicants ought to pay the application fees of Rs 4000/- (approx) for general category students and Rs 3500/- (approx) for reserved category students.

CLAT 2016 Exam Pattern

  • The CLAT exam comprises of 200 multiple choice questions.
  • Applicants 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer given and 1 mark will be added for every correct answer.
  • The overall time for the examination will be 2 hours.

Law Courses

“Law” is the basic part of our constitution. The law education is the only legal education in India.

Courses & Career after 12th in Law

Law is one of the career-oriented courses after 12th. In India, the student can pursue the legal degree after the completion of the graduation in any discipline. There are the following degrees of legal education in India.
  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) – 3 years
LLB is the most common degree of law education. The LLB takes the 3 year as the duration of the course.
  • Integrated undergraduate degrees – B.A. LL.B., B.Sc. LL.B., BBA LLB, B.Com LL.B – 5 years
One who wishes to do the integrated course can take the admission in 5 year integrated programme after the completion of 10+2 exams.
  • Master of Laws (LL.M.) – one/two years
LLM is the master degree in legal education having one or two-year duration. It has been started in India before 2012.
  • Master of Business Law
The MBL is the master degree in legal education with the specialization in business law having one or two-year duration.
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
There is a good prospect for PhD after the legal education. Most of the highly reputed autonomous institution provides the PhD programmes.
  • Integrated MBL-LLM/ MBA-LLM – 3years
One who wishes to do the integrated course with business specialization can go for the MBL-LLM or MBA-LLM. It is a 3 year degree programme after the completion of the LLB.

Admission in Law education

The students, who wish to get the admission in law, have to appear in CLAT (Common Law Admission Test).
Student can go for law courses with any stream (Science stream/ Commerce stream / Arts stream) in 12th.
The admission in the Jindal Law Global School is done through the LSAT (Law School Admission Test) conducted by the Law School Admission Council, USA.
Some of the private and autonomous universities conduct their own admission test.
